Scores

Your shared library: scores (collections, methods, editions) and the pieces they contain, with their composers, lyricists, arrangers, interpreters, categories and tags.

Vocabulary

Score
A physical collection or an edition: "The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I", "Nocturnes"… It has a name, an edition, a description, and can group several pieces.
Piece
A specific work inside a score: "Prelude and Fugue No. 1", "Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2"… It is the piece, not the score, that carries the key and the opus number, and that you find in the Journal as repertoire being worked on.

The library

By default, the screen lists your scores: title, composer(s), categories and tags as colored pills, and a column showing whether the work is original. A + button at the top right creates a new score.

Filters

The Filters button expands search fields by composer, category, lyricist, interpreter, arranger and tag — each with its own as-you-type search.

Typing text in the main search bar switches the screen from a search over scores to a search over pieces across the whole library. Each result shows the piece's name, and just below it, smaller, the name of the score it comes from — both clickable. This is the view to use to quickly find a specific piece without remembering which collection it belongs to.

A score's file

Name, edition, description, two checkboxes (Original / SEMU), the list of its pieces, and three classification fields:

Categories
A checklist among existing categories (Baroque, Romantic…) — defined beforehand in Configuration; they cannot be created from this file.
Composers
A token ("chip") search field. See Creating on the fly below.
Tags
Same principle as composers. See Creating on the fly.

A piece's file

Name, key, opus/number, free-text notes, and an optional attached file (a scanned PDF of the score, with upload, download and delete). Classification goes further than on the score:

Creating composers, lyricists, arrangers, interpreters and tags on the fly

lightbulb

This is Cadencia's most distinctive behavior, and it's worth understanding: unlike most fields in the app, these five fields let you create a new entry without leaving the form, simply by typing its name.

All five fields behave the same way:

  1. Type the name

Every keystroke re-runs a search among entries (composers, tags…) already present in your library.

  2. A suggestion shows up? Click it

The existing entry is added as a token in the field.

  3. No suggestion? Press Enter

What happens next differs by field:

label

Tags

Enter immediately adds a new token with the text you typed — no confirmation, no window.

person_add

Composer, lyricist, arranger, interpreter

Enter opens a small window to confirm or complete the last name and first name, then adds the person as a token once confirmed.

info

Either way, adding the token does not yet write anything to your shared library: it is saving the score or the piece that actually creates, in one go, whichever composers, lyricists, arrangers, interpreters or tags did not already exist. Closing the form without saving therefore leaves no trace of these new entries.

The benefit: no more need to go create a composer or a tag ahead of time in a separate management list before being able to use it on a score — everything happens right when you need it, while cataloguing the piece.

A token added by mistake is removed with the small cross on the token itself, before saving.
