Navigation & header

The pink bar at the top of the screen is present everywhere in Cadencia. It is not just general navigation: the date and the course of the year selected there drive what screens like the Journal display.

The year and date selector

This zone combines two settings that together determine what you see in the Journal and elsewhere:

Course of the year
The year's label followed by the course name (for example "2026-2027 - Piano"). If only one course of the year covers the selected date, it shows as plain text. If several overlap — for example Piano and Music theory over the same period — a dropdown appears to choose which one to display. This choice filters which students appear in the Journal: only those with a schedule on the selected course show up.
calendar_today Date
Opens a calendar to pick any day, past or future. The date shown determines which weekday is active in the Journal (and hence which schedules appear there), as well as the context for the day's observations and journal entry.
today Today
This shortcut only appears when the selected date is not today — it lets you jump back to it in one click after checking another day.

The course of the year shown is the one whose school year covers the selected date. Changing the date can therefore make certain courses appear or disappear from the dropdown, if their school years do not overlap.

Add a reminder

The bell icon opens the creation of a reminder: a due date (date, optional time), free-text content, and optionally a linked student. Reminders created here appear in the "Reminders" panel of the home screen.

Profile menu

The silhouette icon, all the way to the right, opens a menu with:

  • FR / EN — switches the whole app's language immediately, without reloading the page.
  • Profile — your personal information.
  • Sign out.
